APPLICATION PROCEDURES for all certified positions listed below, unless otherwise noted:

Alternative Education Teachers: Ansonia Public Schools will have two openings in its Alternative Education Program: The first is for one full-time special education teacher (#165 - Comprehensive Special Education) with preference given for a second certification in English (015) or science (030, 031, 032, 033 or 034).The second full-time teaching position will require certification in English (015) or science (030, 031, 032, 033, or 034).

Special Education: Ansonia Public Schools will have an opening for a full-time special education teacher. Applicants must have Connecticut certification #065, 165, or 265 (Comprehensive Special Education, grades Pre-K - 12 or 1-12).

Guidance Counselor: Ansonia High School will have an opening for a full-time guidance counselor. Applicants must have Connecticut certification #067.

Science: Ansonia Public Schools will have an opening for a full-time science teacher at Ansonia Middle School. Applicants must have Connecticut certification #030, 031, 032, 033, 034, 230, 231, 232, 233, 234, or 235 (a 7-12 science or a 4-8 science area).

English/Language Arts: Ansonia Public Schools will have an opening for a full-time language arts teacher at Ansonia Middle School. Applicants must have Connecticut certification # 001, 004, 006, 015, 016, or 215.

Music Teacher: Ansonia Public Schools will have an opening for a full-time middle school music teacher. Applicants must have Connecticut certification #049 (Music, Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12).

Mathematics: Ansonia Public schools will have an opening for a full-time high school mathematics teacher. Applicants must have Connecticut certification #029 (7-12 Mathematics ).

Chemistry/General Science Teacher: Ansonia Public Schools will have an opening for a full-time high school chemistry teacher. Applicants must have Connecticut certification #031 (Chemistry, 7-12).

Spanish/ESL Teacher: Ansonia Public Schools will have an opening for a full-time high school Spanish teacher. Applicants must have Connecticut certification #023 (Spanish, 7-12).

Elementary School Principal: Ansonia Public Schools is seeking applicants for Elementary School Principal; must have Connecticut certification #092; experience required in urban district, high needs students, Title I, Reading First, Responsive Classroom, special education inclusion, and student mentoring.

Special Education Aides: Ansonia Public Schools has immediate openings for part-time special education aides to work one-on-one. The first position is at Prendergast School for a second grader. Spanish is preferred but not required; must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The position is for the following hours: 8:30-11:45 a.m. Monday-Friday (school days only). The second position is at Mead School. Pay is $8.08/hr. Special Education Instructional Assistant: Ansonia Public Schools has an opening for a Instructional Assistant to work with a fifth grade student with Autism.
