School Readiness Program

Goals

The School Readiness Grant Program provides a developmentally appropriate preschool program for children ages 3-5.

Through a program that provides open-ended materials and hands-on activities, children develop socially, intellectually, physically and emotionally. School Readiness adheres to the philosophy that children learn through play. Teachers foster each child’s sense of him/herself as an individual and promote their self-esteem.

Health and nutrition activities are also an integral part of our curriculum. School Readiness builds a foundation of knowledge for future education.

Mission Statement

The Ansonia School Readiness Council is dedicated to providing leadership to high quality programs for children, ongoing professional development for teachers, linking resources to strengthen families and promoting open communication among all stakeholders in the community.

School Readiness programs are coordinated and developed by the Ansonia School Readiness Council. The School Readiness Council meets bi-monthly.
