John G. Prendergast School
Faith Walker, Keirsten LaRue, Jenna Fasciano, Malori Shortell, Natalie Jones and Maya Frager met with Consulting Chef John to discuss healthier lunch options. The group agreed that more fresh fruits and vegetables and salad options would help students make healthier choices at lunch. The feedback from the student "lunch panel" was connected to the District's VITHALS collaboration with Griffin Hospital to promote better health for the students. The cafeteria recently introduced NUVAL nutrition scores for all lunch items. The scores rank foods from 0-100 based on their nutritional content.
