Community Prejudice Reduction Conference

The Prejudice Reduction Conference seeks to bring the community together to learn about and discuss various topics relating to prejudice.

It is an evening activity involving adults and students. The conference includes a keynote address and a choice of one workshop per person. This year, Dr. Leon Bass, a former high school principal and veteran of World War II, will be the keynote speaker.

Advance registration is required; the registration date has been extended to Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

Registration information will be distributed to all Ansonia Public Schools. If you are interested in attending, you may register by printing the PDF form by clicking here, or by clicking the Excel form here and completing it using your computer and e-mailing it as an attachment to: HRC@ansonia.org

Besides the keynote, there are also workshops focusing on topics such as cyber-bullying, gender stereotyping, age discrimination, and cultural differences.  We are also proud to offer a workshop, Community Conversations, sponsored by Mayor Della Volpe's Task Force on Race and Ethnicity. The three conference coordinators will work closely with a Steering Committee that consists of representatives of local and state government, the Ansonia School System, the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven and the Ansonia Chapter of the NAACP.
