Message from Principals

Dear Parent/Guardian;

As you are aware by now, Ansonia Public Schools will be moving to fully remote learning on Monday, November 16th.  We understand this change comes with uncertainty but we wanted to ensure you that we are working diligently to ensure that your child continues to receive rigorous and well planned out instruction.  Unfortunately, due to the need to balance class size we have to adjust our class rosters to maintain this high level of instruction.  We understand that a classroom change at this point in the year can cause anxiety but rest assured a vast amount of time and careful consideration has gone into every decision that has been made.  Student needs and meeting these needs was the driving force behind these decisions.

Parents will be contacted through email Friday morning IF their classroom assignment has been adjusted.  All students will receive communication and direction from their classroom teacher Friday afternoon through email.

Monday, November 16th will be a remote learning day for all students but there will not be live instruction.  Students will receive their daily assignments for the day through Google Classroom.  However, we are requiring all students to participate in a homeroom Google Meets session to start the day.  Your child’s classroom teacher will provide specific information regarding this Friday afternoon.

A daily instructional schedule will also be sent to you.  Remote instruction will take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with students attending each day.  We will no longer be in a cohort model.  Wednesday will remain the same as it has been since the beginning of the school year.

Thank you,

Mrs. Nimons and Mr. Coppola
